These are snaps of a USAF C-130 practice drop zone that is not too far from my own back yard. Though we waited, no planes actually came in for a drop; a disappointment: The C-130’s are huge behemoths that are whale-shaped yet beautiful in their sheer power. Learning about the drop zone and its unintended role in the community was interesting, enlightening and somewhat disturbing. But, nothing can belittle the intense and thorough training flight and ground crews go through. Stay well, airmen.
It was an amazing, frozen sunrise this morning here in winter-bound Arkansas. The pink sky lit the windows of the house and I couldn’t resist getting the camera out. But, not for long. I took seven shots before retreating quickly back into the warmth of inside.
