This photo was taken this morning, 1/1/10, right around 6:00 a.m. I kept seeing headlines about it being a "blue moon," so I figured I'd take a photo of it.
Gargantua, I used 40x magnification and the highest resolution my camera has. I cropped the photo a bit, but not as much as you'd think. I love that the camera "sees" more than my eyes do.
Yeah, it's the zoom that does it. I used the door jam to anchor my arm and a faster shutter speed. Some of the other shot came out with an actual blue circle around it, and I about flipped out.
When Was it taken? A blue moon is rare and I do not recall hearing about it lately. I came by CMF spikes. Happy New year.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful picture. What magnification did you use to get so close?

It's a great shot of the moon, it looks very haunting to me, it looks brilliant on your blogs black background though ;)
ReplyDeleteWow, is that gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGosh, that is exquisite. Okay then - I think I'll make my New Year's resolution: "learn to take photos of the moon".
ReplyDeleteEmm, the most difficult part of getting a decent shot of the moon is shake. If you have a tripod, try it. I took almost 30 shots to get just this one!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is haunting, and humbling, yet beautiful. I agree with you both on that.
I must buy a tripod - even a mini one. It is time. And next, a camera with decent zoom.

ReplyDeleteWell it is a great shot. I have seen a few of them. It was too cloudy here to see it.
